Nina’s older brother Joel, a talented multi-instrumentalist has performed with and composed for Katie Melua and The Hofesch Schecter Company. He is a prestigious soloist, with 2 albums and 3 EP’s of all original music under his belt. Also working as a producer and band musician in many Northampton acts, Joel has been an inspiration for his younger sister. They recorded Nina’s first ever EP at their family home in 2012, and her debut full album together late in 2017. Joel will be taking the stage with Nina to perform at the live album launch 13/09/19.
The Burning Glass
Nina’s first band and closest friends, The Burning Glass is the brain child of the extremely brainy Edwin Brooks. He writes songs that tell stories and make people laugh, tap their toes, and even occasionally cry. As lead singer and ukeleleist of the band, he is joined by his cousin and classically trained percussionist Kizzy Brooks, who first invited Nina to join the band when they met at the RCM in 2013. Joseph Trudgeon, swing master out of Somerset, joins them on guitar.
The Odd Beats
From countless summers at music festivals, this band has remained Nina’s absolute favourite since her first ever festival visit. Dila V's powerful vocals and endless energy shines through while Fati Ebrem's intricate guitar playing style and his unique use of the wah wah pedal mesmerises those who experience The Odd Beats. Their music is embellished with eastern percussions and powerful ethnic rhythms that make you dance like a lunatic!
